Our grounds maintenance teams have continued their work to better support biodiversity and customer well-being. In a special project to celebrate the late Queen’s jubilee, we worked closely with local community groups and customers to plant trees for The Queen’s Green Canopy project. Originally, we set out to plant 70 trees to celebrate each year of The Queen's reign, but we decided to double this figure to cover more of the communities where our customers live.

As well as trees, we've continued planting wildflower meadows. Not only do they look pretty, they reduce our carbon emissions as the areas no longer need to be mowed and they're great for wildlife as they provide plenty of pollen for bees and butterflies.

This year we...

Planted new flowering shrubs...

...which are great pollinators and even have seeds for birds.
